Paranormal Lockdown, a ghost-hunting reality TV show, stars Nick Groff and Katrina Weidman. In each episode, they stay at a haunt for 72 hours to collect ghostly evidence. Here’s Ghostly Activities’ take on the show.
We’ve been asked a few times to recommend books for new, intermediate and advanced ghost hunters. Well, here it is.
We recently purchased a great book about paranormal investigations. It’s called “Admissible – The Field Manual for Investigating UFOs, Paranormal Activity and Strange Creatures,” by Chase Kloetzke and Richard M. Dolan. We recommend the book for your ghost hunting library.
“Picture Yourself Ghost Hunting,” by Christopher Balzano is a very helpful book to read for new ghost hunters or aspiring ghost hunters. Overall, it’s clearly written, but it can be a bit repetitive. As a new hunter or researcher, we believe the repetition is important on key points, such as ghostly behavior and ghost hunting techniques. The strongest points in the book include the picture examples and the DVD. Yes, Mr. Balzano takes you through 3 investigations in painstaking detail….
We’ve been asked which paranormal TV show about ghost hunting we like more: Ghost Adventures or Ghost Hunters. Well, the answer depends on what you want to get out of the show. Do you want to be entertained or do you want to learn something? First, we’d like to start with both shows’ biggest fault…
What are our 5 favorite books about ghost hunting? Well, in random order, they are: “Picture Yourself Ghost Hunting” by Christoper Balzano “The Everything Ghost Hunting Book” by Melissa Martin Ellis “Ghost Hunting for Beginners: Everything You Need to Know to Get Started” by Rich Newman “How to Hunt Ghosts – A Practical Guide” by Joshua P. Warren “Scientific Paranormal Investigation” by Benjamin Radford The last book debunks most ghostly activities and that’s okay. Most hauntings can be explained by…
Okay, so I was testing my EMF reader for an upcoming hunt when I discovered the high EMF generated by Motorola walkie talkies. This may skew your baseline readings or trip the meter on a hunt.
K2 EMF Meter. I just used it to take some baseline readings of common electronics like a LCD TV, iPhone and space heater. It picked them from a few feet away. This is a big improvement over the Ghost Meter (see earlier review post for more.) I’ll test the K2 in depth at the Congress Plaza Hotel hunt in February.
The Ghost Meter. I’d recommend the K-II (K2) meter or Trifield 100XE meter over it.
Detecting EMF is a big part of ghost hunting. I bought the Ghost Meter to help with our investigations and it just doesn’t do the job. Below is a list of Pros and Cons, and my conclusion. Pros Lightweight Inexpensive ($25) Easy-to-use Cons Very low detection range Bad end-user documentation On/off button too sensitive Conclusion I can’t recommend the Ghost Meter. It has no range (you had to touch something with the meter to get a result). Also, the on/off…
